Holiday Harm for Pets

Holiday Harm for Pets

Pets are sometimes the greatest destroyer of holiday decor. Climbing trees, attacking ornaments, pulling down stockings, chewing up presents, etc!

Most of that can be innocent fun, but don’t add to the holiday stress by giving your pets things that can cause them serious harm. The biggest threat to them are the holiday foods and treats! Here is a list of foods and drinks that will dampen the holidays if they are consumed by your cats/dogs:

  • Poultry Bones
  • Alcohol
  • Turkey Skin
  • Onions
  • Some types of nuts
  • Grapes/Raisins
  • Chocolate
  • Nutmeg
  • Large quantities of milk and eggnog
  • Any food prepared with artificial sweetener
  • Big portions of pork meats (such as bacon)

If you suspect your animal may have ingested these and are showing signs of illness, please call us at (303)795-5065, schedule an appointment through the PetDesk app, or email us at woodlawnvet@gmail.com.
